Children's Ministries
The goal
of our children’s ministries at UBNC is to provide a safe and fun learning
environment where kids can experience the love of Christ and make a
life-long commitment to follow Him.
FW
Friends
FW Friends is our new and
exciting program on Wednesday nights from 6:45 to 8:00. It is an exciting
time of games, crafts, skits, songs, and tons of fun. This is a highly
interactive, hands-on learning environment that teaches Biblical lessons in
creative and practical ways for today’s kids. “FW” stands for Faith Weavers,
and it is our desire to integrate or weave faith into our kids’ daily lives.
High 5ers
This is our mid-week program for fifth
graders. High 5ers is aimed at meeting the changing needs of this age group
through a small group setting. It also meets from 6:45 to 8:00.
Sunday School
On Sunday mornings we provide small group
settings based on grade levels where the children can meet and learn about
Biblical stories and values as well as have crafts and age appropriate
activities. The groups meet at 9:15 prior to our worship hour. Nursery care
is available for infants and toddlers.
Children’s Church
On Sunday mornings grades one through
four leave the main service on designated Sundays to worship and learn in
unique and fun ways. Their time together includes various activities, songs,
games and lessons. Children’s Church allows children to learn and develop in
an age appropriate manner. Nursery care and Preschool Children’s Church are
available during the entire worship hour.
Children’s Choir
Through out the year kindergarteners
through sixth graders gather to work on various musical programs that are
preformed. This gives the children an opportunity to hear and experience
God’s truths through music and drama. During this time the kids are
separated into small groups for lessons and crafts that relate to the
musical’s theme.
Karate Classes
Karate classes are a ministry to families
as well as children. We have two nights of classes a week where family
members from 6 years old and up can come and participate. We teach
self-defense and a traditional karate style called Okinawan Kenpo.
Karate also teaches self-confidence,
self-control, self-discipline and respect. While the lessons are free, there
are fees to cover belt tests, uniforms and equipment.
