Our Ministry Plan

2015-16 UBNC MINISTRY PLAN (Mission Action Plan)

Under the direction of the Holy Spirit, we prayerfully and humbly take the important step of listing our goals for the coming year. Assured that God has a unique plan, for His unique church, in our unique neighborhood, we sense God is leading us to focus and

THRIVE (to flourish and grow well) in this Ministry Plan:

Goal #1:     To THRIVE in our CONNECTIONS with both the Saved and the Unsaved.

What     (What are we trying to achieve?)

We boldly ask God’s Spirit to show us each month, one specific person inside of our church and one specific person outside of our church which we can CONNECT; touching their spiritual, physical and/or emotional lives with the love of Jesus Christ. We specifically ask for help to touch our neighborhood(s). We pray for God to enlarge our hearts with His view of and passion for people in the context of the Great Commandment and Commission. We will give account to Him and to each other so as to experience the full blessing of CONNECTION.

Who      (Who will accomplish this?)

The Pastoral Staff and Church Board will be accountable each month by reporting those CONNECTIONS at the opening of every board meeting. We will intentionally pray for God’s leadership and help. We will then challenge Sunday School and Small Groups to follow the same pattern. They will celebrate weekly in their groups/classes. Finally, we will share this challenge and commitment with our congregation and encourage them to join in. Varied opportunities for reporting their CONNECTIONS will be offered on Sundays throughout the year.

When   (When will the goal be completed?)

This goal is purposed for the church year, March 1, 2015 through February 28, 2016.

Goal #2:     To THRIVE by Discovering, Embracing and Equipping New Church Ministry Leaders

What     (What are we trying to achieve?)

We want to discover and develop new leaders (Ephesians 4) to carry out the vision of our church today and into tomorrow. Releasing them to serve among us with new expressions of ministry to our church families, community neighborhood(s) is essential to the life of the kingdom through UBNC.

Who      (Who will accomplish this?)

Lead Pastor will initiate new opportunities for developing such leaders.  He will focus on lay ministry understandings and recognition of ministry gifts as a beginning focus. Other staff and lay leaders will be incorporated into the process to assist in specific training.

When   (When will the goal be completed?)

This goal is purposed for the church year, March 1, 2015 through February 28, 2016.
